I can't imagine more than 2; Grain in a 5 gallon bucket would be very heavy. I am not an expert however, just thinking off the top of my head.

I'm not worried about moving them also does anyone have any suggestions for a grain storage vessel?

Do you know what would be kind of cool, is those space saver bags used as a grain storage. Vacuum sealed so no air is in there, although don't know how feasible or how durable those bags are.

I store mine in a 20 gallon Rubbermaid Trash Can. Works great - I store the bag and all in the trash can. My bigest concern is keeping it away from the mice.

Yeah that's my concern most of those containers have "air wholes" and I don't want rodents or my wife will get pissed

Yep, a couple will almost take 50#s. Get a couple of gamma lids if you can swing it. They're great. Also, you can get 50# vittles vault, or the 60# stackable vittles vault with the screw on lids. Costco has the stackable ones at times. They're a little pricey, but real nice.
