Default 3/4 NPT thermometer?

I bought a brew kettle off of Craigslist. It has two ports for the valve and thermometer. It already had the valve but no thermometer. It measures 3/4 inches though. I can only find 1/2 inch NPT. Anyone know where I can find a 3/4 inch?

If you measured the actual hole diameter at 3/4" then it IS 1/2" npt (pipe thread is not the same as actual size). Normally you make. 7/8" diameter hole for 1/2" pipe fittings.

Still 1/2 inch NPT? If so, I will make my purchase right away

That looks like 1/2 NPT. I believe NPT sizing is based on the inside diameter of the pipe.

3/4" actual is 1/2"NPT. Pipe thread items (fittings, pipes, etc.) go by ID not OD, so to get a 1/2" ID on the fittings, the OD has to be larger, which is what you've measured.
