Default 1/2 gallon Bottles

Has anybody used 1/2 Gallon bottles with screw top lids? Do the screw tops seal well enough? In the past i have used small bottles with regular caps. I am still kind of new. I am on my 4th batch. Thanks !!!

If you're talking about the 1/2 gallon growlers with plastic screwtops, they won't hold a seal for the carbonation... They're good for making starters though

You could use 1,2 or 3 liter soda bottles. Just keep the beer out of the light.

I used these plastic tops on my half gallon and my 1 gallon growlers and I have no problem holding carbonation.

I just went to the LHBS and grabbed a $0.25 cap and it, in my opinion, worked better than the metal one that came with it.
