Default Spaten Optimator is my kind of beer.
Brewery / Brand:
Spaten

Brewery Location:
Munich, Germany

ABV:
7.2%

Glassware:
Pint glass

Price:
$7.49/6 pack

Serving Type / Size:
12 FL. oz.

Aroma:
Malty, with a little "soy sauce" aroma.

Appearance:
Dark brown with a little redness in light. A medium off white head that recedes quickly.

Flavor:
Sweet, malty with a slight aftertaste of what I would discribe as "soy sauce like". Not at all unpleasent. No noticeable hop flavor. Can taste some alchohol but nothing too strong. You can tell it is a 7.2% beer.

Mouthfeel:
Mouthfeel, heavy, somewhat thick and somewhat oily. Good carbonation.

General Impression:
My first ever Doppelbock. I am in love. It is now one of my favorite beers. Was thrown at first not knowing what kind of beer to expect. Wish I had tried it years ago.

Will add more later. This is my first beer review so forgive my amateurish wording.

Thanks, Tim

Default Used to lover this beer, but now INBEV owns them and they are evil so not anymore
Price: $$$$   Glassware: 500ml   Serving Type / Size: 500ml   Aroma: on the nose   Appearance: dark yet able to see through   Flavor: very nice   Mouthfeel: malty yet balanced.   General Impression: a very nice beer, just a horrible company that purchased SPATEN

INBEV now owners of Spaten decided that they would wait 120 days before they would pay for anything so I decided not to pay for their beer.
