Adding complexity to your brew processes

Yesterday my wife lead the charge on brewing up some Pumpkin Ale, an extract + grains recipe from the local homebrew shop. A couple things went down during this brew that made the adventure seem that much more adventurous, even though we didn't really do anything different.

First off, we migrated away from a plastic bucket to a 6 gal. carboy as our primary fermenter. This really wasn't a big deal except that we had to use a funnel to move the wort over once it was cooled down. ...

Odell Brewing Co. and Colorado State University team up for Hoppy Days

I got a chance to attend my first tapping party at Odell Brewing Company yesterday evening. They celebrated an IPA that was crafted by the current crop of Colorado State University Brewing Science and Technology students. (Where was that degree program when I was in school!?)

Woodcut No. 1 - Score!

My wife and I went on a treasure hunt around Fort Collins yesterday in hopes of scoring some of the last few bottles of Odell Brewing Company's limited release Woodcut No. 1.

I read about the brew in the latest Draft magazine. Living in the same town as OBC, you'd think we'd be more aware. The initial release was in August.
