Beat Down Brown

Brewing this weekend for the first time in over a month, god I hate being busy. This one will be an american brown, modeled after jamil's american brown recipe, with some hop substitutes.

So this weekend I will be brewing an attempt at a troegs pale ale clone, but after that I am kind of up in the air with what i'd like to brew.

I have two jars of WLP300 Hefe and two jars of WLP029 Kolsch yeasts in my fridge. At the moment I have a ton of Hefe and Dunkelweizens in my garage, so I'm a little WLP300'd out. Too much clove for me right now (even though I fermented at 60). Still in a few weeks I will probably brew a weizenbock, and then I need to decide whether or not...

Troegs Pale Ale Clone

So this weekend I am going to be attempting to brew a Troegs Pale Ale clone. Here is a brief description from their website:

TRÖEGS Pale Ale
Alcohol by Volume: 5.4%
Hop Bitterness (IBU's) : 45
Color (SRM) : Copper
Availability: Draft and Bottles Year Round
Malts: Pilsner, Crystal
Hops: Liberty, Cascade
Yeast: Ale

Tasting Notes: Little Red Dog Hefe

So tonight I am going to attempt to put together my first tasting notes. I have never tried to critique my beers or any others, so this will be my first time trying to describe a beer "on paper".

Today I am brewing yet another adaptation of a recipe from Jamil's Brewing Classic Styles. Today is the American Wheat. Here is what I will be doing:
