Cherries, cherries, cherries!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted 07-12-2009 at 12:42 AM by Corey_James
Let see where this started. I got over 7lbs of bing cherries from a friend of mine. As they were handing me these, he said, we are going to be out of town for 2 weeks and you can come pick the ripe cherries from the tree. Well they were not the same, the cherries that I picked were a bit more tart. So I brewed a wheat based wit, recipe follows:
7lbs Wheat LME
1lb 6 row
3/4 lb Munich
1/4 lb Carapils
perle hops for 60 3.8 AAU
Fermented on Wyeast 3944

Fermented for 5 days @ 68 added 4.5 lbs of pitted tart cherries. 4 days later added 2.5lbs of bing cherries. Planning on transferring to secondary with 2.5 lbs of bing cherries aand 1 Tablespoon of Vanilla extract and then fermenting @ 35 for 3 weeks.
